Guts poker is a 2-10 player game using a standard 52 card deck. The object of Guts poker is to make the best 3 card Guts poker hand using your 3 cards. After receiving cards, all players call or fold at the same time. Players that call, show their cards and the player with the best poker hand wins the pot. The losing hands must match the pot. In Survivor Guts poker only the worst hand must match the pot, in Monte Carlo Guts poker all losing hands match the pot.

Guts Poker: Buy-in
For all Guts poker games, the minimum buy-in is 100 times the ante. For example, on a .10¢ ante table, the minimum buy-in is $10.

Guts Poker: Game Play

Games are played in rounds, which are made up of one or more hands. A round does not end until the pot is won. A player may not join a game until a new round starts.

  1. Players ante in or sit out. Antes for games are the same as the table stakes. In a $.50 stake table the ante is $.50.
  2. Each player receives 3 cards face down.
  3. All players choose to stay in or fold. This process is resolved simultaneously so that players see all the other players decision at the same time.
  4. Players that stayed in show their hands. The player with the best Guts poker hand wins the pot. When playing Monte Carlo Guts Poker, all players that called and lost must each match the pot. In Survivor Guts Poker only the player with the worst hand must match the pot.
  5. If all players fold or the pot was matched by a player, all players re-ante and are dealt 3 new cards. This goes on until the pot is won with no losers.

Guts Poker: Notes
  1. Antes are determined by each table. In a $1 Guts poker table, the ante is $1.
  2. Players who do not ante every round of the game must sit out until the round is over.
  3. Players are only dealt 3 cards.
  4. All players simultaneously choose to stay in or fold.
  5. Players that "stayed in" must show their cards.
  6. Players that fold are out until the next deal (not the round).
  7. Hands that time-out before a call or fold is chosen will be folded.
  8. The player with the best hand wins the pot.
  9. If all players in the round fold, the pot is carried over to the next hand and all players re-ante.
  10. Straights and Flushes may be made using only 3 cards.
  11. Straights beat a Flush.
  12. Ties split the pot.
